ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Karen Cunningham was Creative Director of JamFactory’s Glass Studio from 2010 to 2019. She studied at the University of South Australia and completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Glass). Her Honours (First Class) work was selected for the PICA National Graduate Exhibition in 2005, and given the Design Institute of Australia Achievement Award for Glass Design. After completing the JamFactory Associate Training program, Karen became a JamFactory studio tenant, before joining the esteemed Blue Pony studio for three years. She has worked and trained in the USA, Turkey, Europe and the UK where she was mentored by Marc Newson after winning a Qantas Spirit of Youth Award.

Illumini is the collaborative work of Karen Cunningham and glass artist Mandi King.
