ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Lorelei Medcalf is an artist, printmaker and teacher. Her prints are made from intricately etched copper plates, or from the more spontaneous painterly marks of the monoprint. Her art practice and material exploration include the construction of intaglio prints from reclaimed metal plates, collaging her discarded print-proofs, and drawing with etching tools made from found materials. Her daily walks on the Fleurieu coastline provide inspiration for her artworks; whether it’s the natural or man-made detritus washed up on the beach, or her encounters with humans and animals.
