Brass Teaspoon Masterclass with Kenny Son | 1 DAY
Suitable for participants with prior jewellery or metal fabrication experience, raise your own brass spoon out of 2mm flat sheet material under the guidance of visiting artist Kenny Son of Studio Kyss.
This one-day masterclass will cover a cold-forge spoon making process; from design, template-cutting, forging and forming techniques with hammers and anvils, and finishing processes.
All tools and materials will be supplied, including planishing, forging and ball-pin hammers and 2mm sheet brass. ** Please note that brass is not considered food-safe for acidic or alkaline foods. Students are welcome to bring their own sterling silver if they would prefer a completely food-safe item; you will need 1.5-2mm thick silver of dimensions 130x30mm.
This session is suitable for students that have completed a Level 1 Jewellery Making course at JamFactory (or with equivalent experience).
