Burnished Tea Set
Burnished Tea Set including a timber tray, timber box with glass spoon, and a glass pouring vessel with a timber top by South Australian artist duo Studio Mono.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Studio Mono consists of husband and wife team John Quan and Kumiko Nakajima. After working independently as a furniture designer and glass artist, it was a natural step to collaborate and take their work to a new level.
Kumiko was born in Fukuoka, Japan. She travelled to Australia in 2005 and spent 6 months working in various glass studios around the country. She returned in 2007 to commence the traineeship in the JamFactory glass studio. Since completing the associate program, she has established her own studio, creating production work and art pieces, which have been exhibited locally and internationally.
Initially trained in the fields of Industrial Design, as well as Fashion Design, John commenced the traineeship in 2007 in the JamFactory furniture studio. Since completing the associate program, he has been involved in a broad range of creative pursuits, which include creating one-off furniture pieces, designing products for limited production and developing new works for exhibitions.
