Please note that all short course participants (from 2022 onwards) must be fully vaccinated in order to attend class, unless a medical exemption applies. A covid-19 vaccination certificate or proof of medical exemption from SA Health must be supplied upon enrolment (upload above).
In this hands-on one-day workshop, you will be introduced to a range of eco-aware etching & intaglio techniques. Using a range of etching resists and step-etching techniques, you will learn how to design, etch and print two metal plates. This workshop is solvent free and eco-aware.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners. Students will take home a series of prints to enjoy and the skills necessary to continue etching in their own studio. All materials are supplied; we recommend bringing an apron, dishwashing gloves and pen/pad for sketching ideas.
