Level 2 Silver: Bezel Pendant and Hydraulic Brooch | 7 WEEKS
Designed for students who have completed the introductory course in silver jewellery, refine your skills and learn new techniques in jewellery making in this 7-week course. Students will be introduced to the use of a hydraulic press to create three-dimensional forms with compressive force and learn how to create a custom bezel stone set pendant.
This course will cover the following skills and processes through the completion of two specialised projects:
- fabricate and set a sterling silver pendant with a round cabochon stone (constructing the pendant, creating a custom bezel setting and physically capturing the stone in the bezel)
- create a hydraulic-pressed brooch made from copper with silver findings (introduction to the method of using a hydraulic press to create three-dimensional designs, fabrication of brooch back finding and pin assembly)
All necessary materials are supplied including one cabochon stone, bezel wire, a square of sterling silver sheet, copper and silver for findings. You may choose to purchase extra silver in addition to these if desired. Completion of our Level 1 Introduction to Silver Jewellery short course (7-week course or 4-day intensive) or basic jewellery skills essential.
All materials supplied.
