Banksia dish in porcelain by South Australian artist Nerida Bell.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Nerida Bell lives and works in the Adelaide Hills. She has developed her arts practice over the last eight years including studies at the Adelaide College of the Arts graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design. During her final year of studies she was selected for the Hill Smith Gallery student exhibition followed by the Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition in 2017.
Nerida was taught needlework skills at an early age by her mother and grandmothers and hence has a strong attachment and affinity for fabric and yarn which continues today. Much of her practice reflects this ‘material recollection’ where she seeks to emulate the physical qualities of textiles within her ceramics.
