ABOUT THE ARTIST
Yalanji Arts specialises in handcrafted ceramics, screen printed textiles and prints on paper celebrating the culture and deep respect, knowledge and connection to the richly diverse rainforest and ocean environments of Kuku Yalanji Country.
Yalanji Arts is located within the Mossman Gorge Aboriginal community, on the border of the World Heritage listed Daintree National Park. We are a 100% Aboriginal owned art centre, providing support and advocacy for Kuku Yalanji artist from Mossman Gorge & the surrounding area.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Located within Queensland's Mossman Gorge Aboriginal community, Yalanji Arts will exhibit with JamFactory for the first time celebrating NAIDOC's "50 Years of Deadly". Specialising in handcrafted ceramics and screen-printed textiles, the exhibition will display a range of works that recognise the culture and deep respect, knowledge and connection the artists have to the rich and diverse rainforest and ocean environments of Kuku Yalanji Country.
