Buckle Vase
Buckle Vase by Megan Wilkinson
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Megan Wilkinson is an emerging glass artist exploring tension, transition, and the quiet negotiations between control and fluidity within the material. Working across glassblowing, kiln forming, and coldworking, they investigate dualities of strength and fragility through sculptural exhibition works, alongside refined functional objects produced under the name ‘Peggy Glass.’
This collection explores a recurring drooping base, where a sharp change in angle causes each vessel to appear as though it is floating when viewed from above. The dramatic reduction in the base creates a sense of tension between weight and weightlessness, while giving the impression that the base is buckling beneath the form.
