Etched Pewter Earrings with Sue Garrard | SEPPELTSFIELD
JamFactory Barossa:
Workshops at Seppeltsfield Estate
Design and construct a unique pair of etched earrings from reclaimed pewter under the guidance of jeweller and multi-disciplinary artist Sue Garrard.
Participants will be introduced to basic metal etching using saltwater electro-etching with resist designs applied in permanent markers. Students will have the opportunity to sketch and refine their own designs which will then be transferred to pewter sheet and electro-etched in a saltwater bath. Once the etching process is complete, participants can clean, cut, file, sand and polish the etched pewter sheets into their desired shapes ready to assemble and attach to sterling silver hooks.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners; all required tools and materials will be supplied, including reclaimed pewter, jump-rings and sterling silver hooks.
