Level 2 Jewellery: Chain Making | 7 WEEKS
In this seven-week course, expand your jewellery-making skills in wire working and soldering and learn how to construct a simple link bracelet or necklace.
Over the first four weeks, participants will be guided through the process of fabricating their own sterling silver chain with 1.2mm thick round profile wire. Students will be shown how to cut links, prepare them for solder, solder sections, create a stylised S-clasp and complete their bracelet or necklace chain with professional finishing techniques.
In the remaining time, participants will have the opportunity to add a simple pendant to their pieces, or work on an independent project of their choice using the skills learnt in Level 1 + 2.
Students must have completed the Level 1 Silver Jewellery Making course at JamFactory (or have equivalent prior jewellery-making experience). All chain-making tools and materials are supplied, including 2.3 metres of 1.5mm diameter sterling silver wire; you may wish to purchase additional materials for charms/embellishments and free-choice projects.
All materials supplied.
