Mug Making Workshop | 2 DAYS
Create your own matching set of ceramic mugs in this weekend-long course, suitable for complete beginners as well as participants with prior experience in ceramics who would like to refine their skills in constructing pulled handles.
Participants will spend the first day forming their mug bodies to their desired size and proportions using hand-built ceramic methods, before crafting and attaching pulled handles, refining and adding any decorative elements to their mugs in the second session.
Students will learn fundamental hand-built ceramic techniques with particular focus on the process of creating pulled handles, tips and tricks for forming structurally sound pieces with sturdy attachments, and how to consider the overall proportions of their pieces to create a balanced and aesthetically-pleasing design. Finished work will be glazed and fired by JamFactory after the workshop date; students will have the opportunity to select their preferred glaze colour from a small range of provided options.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and all tools and materials are supplied. Students can expect to complete a set of between 4-6 mugs, depending on the size and complexity of their pieces. All work will be glazed and fired in JamFactory's Ceramics Studio, to be collected 2-3 weeks after the workshop date.
All materials supplied.
