Led by KEEP founders Susan Špiranović and Adam Holtzinger, this workshop will demonstrate and explore Susan and Adam's approach to glassmaking as a whole; from design, preparing drawings, translating ideas into 3 dimensions with blown glass, to critical examination of the work. Through day-to-day conversations, demos and 'chalk talk', this course will cover every aspect of KEEP’s method of working with glass. The idea is to approach every project purposefully in both the creative and business aspects.

While this workshop will be demo heavy, it is meant to be exploratory for all; it is up to the class to decide what to make and go through the processes together. Students will gain hot shop skills as well as business skills, all while having a blast!

Participants will need their own hand tools (a small selection will be available for use) and colour. Colour will also be available for purchase on the day.

This 5-day intensive includes access to the hot-shop throughout the day; class time: 8am-4.30pm (with lunch break), and additional blowing time available from 5-9pm each day.

KEEP

KEEP is a Brooklyn-based hot glass studio dedicated to maintaining the craft of glass blowing, utilising traditional Italian techniques to create contemporary lighting and objects with exquisite craftsmanship and signature patterning that are designed and handmade to order by a small team-based glassmaking crew.
