Stoneware Vase
Stoneware Vase in ceramic by New South Wales artist Teval Guner
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Teval is a Turkish Australian artist, who loves to combine her free form designs with her passion for sculpting along with creating functional works of art influenced by her Turkish heritage and Australian nurture.
Her sculptural language is influenced by the Wabi-Sabi style, engaging with themes of femininity and motherhood in the form of beautiful free-form patterns and shapes. Working with clay from local sources, every piece she creates tells a story including her love for the vibrant Australian city of Newcastle, where she works from her beach-side home studio. There's a feeling of freedom in her designs, which are all shaped and glazed by hand. Each unique piece of hand-built stoneware is made to be used and enjoyed.
With a strong belief in the necessity of good design, and the principles of longevity and sustainability, Teval hopes not only to show the world her creations, but to inspire every person to follow their passion just as she has.
