Timber Wall Shelf | 1 DAY
Make your own wall-mountable entryway organiser from solid Tasmanian Oak in this intensive one-day workshop, suitable for beginners.
Participants will learn how to accurately measure and mark out components with squares and gauges, how to cut, bevel and smooth pieces by hand with Japanese hand saws, hand planes and chisels, and create secure attachments with glue. Students will then be guided through the process of using a drill press to create accurate repeatable angled holes to attach dowel hooks, which will then be secured with wedged joinery.
All tools and materials supplied. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners.

Peter Fong is a process-driven furniture designer and maker specialising in custom pieces that showcase joinery and wood-on-wood construction; avoiding the use of nails and screws wherever possible. Influenced by Japanese joinery techniques and the array of hand tools used to create them, his practice centres on creating pieces with longevity and sustainability through the use of considered construction and materials paired with timeless, clean designs.
