Led by visiting artist Ben Cobb, this 5-day glassblowing masterclass will focus on including various methods for colour application and problem-solving within different processes from double overlays, to blow-throughs, stuffing cups and making cane. Suitable for participants with prior glassblowing experience, students will sharpen their skills and learn how to troubleshoot issues throughout the design and making process.

Participants will need their own hand tools (a small selection will be available for use) and colour. Colour will also be available for purchase on the day.

This 5-day intensive includes access to the hot-shop throughout the day; class time: 8am-4.30pm (with lunch break), and additional blowing time available from 5-9pm each day.

Ben Cobb

Ben Cobb is a glass artist, lead glassblower and director of the hotshop at the renowned Museum of Glass, Tacoma. Cobb's work explores the relationship between nature and human biology. With forms as diverse as river stones, to internal organs, new combinations are crafted by bringing together traditional and abstract patterns with elemental forms.
