Wax-cast Signet Ring | 2 DAYS
In this two-session course suitable for complete beginners, participants will design and create their own custom signet ring, melting and sculpting wax into a form from which to create a mould that can be used to cast their piece in sterling silver.
During the first session, students will be guided through a step-by-step procedure to carve their signet design into wax and prepare their pieces for casting.
In the second session, students will receive their piece cast in silver and be shown how to complete the necessary finishing processes (such as cutting, filing and polishing) to transform their rough castings into finished ring, ready to take home.
This class is suitable for complete beginners. All wax, tools and moulding materials are supplied as part of the workshop, however outsourced casting and silver costs are charged per item based on weight. Wax pieces will be weighed at the end of the first session to provide an indication of the casting and silver fee to be paid prior to the second session.
All required tools supplied. Casting and silver charged per item.
