Topography of Form: Masterclass with Brian Corr | 5 DAYS

As glassmakers, form is one of our primary aesthetic tools. This 5-day masterclass will explore the conception and refinement of form as an expressive element across a range of applications. Participants will investigate alternative approaches to traditional pattern-making processes, seeking to achieve a symbiotic relationship between form and adornment. Through daily demonstrations and individual instruction, emphasis will be placed on body mechanics and technical refinement, reinforcing a strong foundation from which to expand upon participants' existing practices.

Participants will need to bring their own hand tools and colour (some colour will also be available for purchase on the day).

This 5-day intensive includes access to the hot-shop throughout the day; class time: 8am-4.30pm Monday to Friday (with lunch break), and additional blowing time available from 5-9pm Monday to Thursday.

Course Requirements

Prior glassblowing experience is essential; this course is suitable for early-career and intermediate artists with one year of tertiary glass blowing experience or equivalent. Please contact Danielle Rickaby (danielle.rickaby@jamfactory.com.au) to apply prior to completing your enrolment.

please note that due to the increased risk of transmission within the glass studio, participants may be asked to conduct a rapid-antigen test upon arrival prior to commencing the workshop; students will be offered a credit for a future workshop if necessary.
